This page is a full, comprehensive list of all cars driven around the Top Gear Test Track during Series 2 of Top Gear. Unless stated otherwise, all laps were driven by The Stig. After Series 2, Episode 4 aired, lap times featuring track-oriented cars were disqualified and the Pagani Zonda was reinstated as the fastest car around the track. However, this ruling was not disclosed until later on, so there are two boards for this series; one with track-oriented cars retained, and another with them removed.
Furthermore, this ruling is inconsistent; cars that were initially removed such as the Caterham Superlight and Ariel Atom would later have valid lap times put on the board, despite the cars being the same as they were before.
Officially recognised lap times[edit | edit source]
Lap times that remained on the board by the end of Series 2, Episode 10, or were otherwise considered valid.
Adjusted lap times[edit source]
Lap times adjusted for differing track conditions. Equal times have been sorted by track conditions, with "Very Wet" laps taking precedence over "Wet" laps etc., as they prove the car in question was capable of equalling that time in better conditions.

Full board with adjusted lap times[edit source]
A board comprising all valid lap times made up to this point, appropriately adjusted to account for track conditions. Precipitation levels and track temperature are indicated with superscript letters which refer to these aspects which can impact an otherwise good lap. Laps not driven by The Stig are designated with italics. Note that only times made by land vehicles are counted. Of the 25 vehicles driven around the test track in Series 2, 23 qualify for inclusion to this list.
Prior to track-oriented car ruling[edit | edit source]
With track-oriented cars disqualified[edit | edit source]
This is an entirely arbitrary categorisation based on the notion that in order to qualify, a car must be fully road-legal and be able to drive over most speed humps.
Notes[edit | edit source]
- ↑ The prototype version set a 1:28.0 the year prior.
- ↑ The Stig cut parts of the track for humour, which would normally disqualify a lap.
- ↑ The car was too unstable to set a competitive lap.
- ↑ The car was started up on the track and moved comically slowly off the line, before cutting back to the studio. Given that the X-Type Diesel wasn't even on sale at this point, it's likely a petrol model was used instead, with a diesel engine dubbed over.
