The Jordan 198 was a Formula 1 race car built by Jordan Grand Prix to compete in the 1998 Formula 1 season. It was driven by Damon Hill and Ralf Schumacher, who managed to attain a 1-2 finish at that year's Belgian Grand Prix.
Appearance[edit | edit source]
The car made its sole appearance in Jeremy Clarkson's third yearly home video, titled Most Outrageous. It was used at the Silverstone circuit where it was pitted against Clarkson in a Ferrari F40 down the track's Hangar Straight, to compare a fast car (the latter being able to reach 100 MPH and back to 0 in 15.9 seconds) against a really fast car (the 198 could achieve this feat in 5.9 seconds, precisely 10 seconds quicker). He stops the F40 once he realises the race is no contest, before presenting a brief intermission from inside the cockpit of the car, where he talks dismissively about the then-current season of the sport.
