An Evening with Top Gear of Top Gear aired on the 18th January, 2015. It was the zeroth episode of [[Top Gear (2002 TV series)/Series 22|Series 22]]; the 175th episode of Top Gear since the show's 2002 reboot and the 784th episode overall, including compilations. It was the 775th episode since Top Gear entered national broadcasting in 1978, and was the 1st programme to air in 2015 out of a total 11. An Evening with Top Gear was originally broadcast in 1080i at a 16:9 Widescreen aspect ratio on British interactive/satellite channel BBC Red Button. The episode starred Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May with a brief cameo appearance from The Stig, who were interviewed by radio disc jockey Christian O'Connell as they answered questions from the public in regards to Top Gear's then-upcoming twenty-second series.

Synopsis

There was no traditional introduction sequence, but similar to Series 3, Episode 1, the episode began with a small skit featuring The Stig, who jumps the queue to see who is performing at the venue, only to turn around in seeming disgust.

  • At 53 minutes, 57 seconds, this episode of Top Gear was the third-shortest episode in history up to that point since the implementation of the 60-minute studio-based format, beaten only by Series 9, Episode 2 at 53 minutes, 31 seconds, and other special episode Top Gear: Festival Sydney, at 49 minutes, 0 seconds.
