RTL Autowereld (Car World) is the name of an automotive journalism programme created by the Luxembourg-based RTL Group, where it presently airs[1] on RTL 7 in the Netherlands. It is one of Europe's longest-running TV series of this type, and is likely based on the Belgian magazine of the same name, which predates the programme by 2 years.
Premiering in September 2001, the programme was initially hosted by Michael Pilarczyk and produced[2] by his production company PMG. Approximately 30 - 40 programmes would air each year, with a special "Summer series" comprised of a shorter run of 10 episodes.
By February 2010, a minimum of 270 episodes[3] had aired, including 19 from the show's 4th and 5th Summer series.

In 2009, a spin-off series by the name of Wannahaves would premiere[4] on the same network, presented by Susanne Dijksterhuis, Olympic silver medallist hockey player Taeke Taekema, and British DJ Tommy Sandhu. Unlike Autowereld, Wannahaves was more of a generalised lifestyle and gadget-themed programme, although it would feature more than a fair share of segments towards cars. 13 episodes[5] would air from August to November of 2009, and was not renewed for a second series.
