The following is a list of McLaren F1s notable for their appearances in various automotive journalism programmes:
- XP3 Prototype/K50 BAT - Silver prototype used as the original 1992 show car. Converted into a road car for its designer Gordon Murray.
- XP4 Prototype/K6 MCL - Blue-coloured prototype converted into a road car for customer Roger Bhatnagar.
- XP5 Prototype/K8 MCL - Dark green prototype converted into a road car and used to set a speed record at Millbrook Proving Ground in 1999.
- Chassis 016/M700 BHP - Orange GTR-spec race car converted into a road car for owner Chris Palmer.
- Chassis 020/13 MAC - Car once owned by Tony Smith, who managed the band Genesis, and was later bought back by McLaren and turned into an LM-spec car.
- Chassis 024/M1 MAC - Black F1 once owned by banking figure Paul Burdell.
- Chassis 061/P380 GJM - Aubergine-coloured car famously owned and crashed by English actor and comedian Rowan Atkinson.
