Wiki Etiquette/rules:
<table style="width:100%;background-color:#F0F0FA;border:1px solid #8663A8">
*All articles are to be written from the perspective of an indefinite point in the future UNLESS something is presently ongoing. This prevents the need to continually update articles should something suddenly change (i.e. a car being taken out of production, a company going bankrupt etc.)
  <tr>
*Similarly, major changes occurring outside any of the shows on this Wiki (e.g. incapacitating injuries, cars being scrapped, name changes etc.) are NOT to be reported unless they occur during the span of a particular show. So if Jeremy Clarkson were to have changed his name to "Jennifer" in 2015/16 as per the original stipulation of his wager, the page would only refer to him as "Jennifer" when describing events following the name change, with all preceding events and the article title itself retaining the name "Jeremy", as that is the name he was most commonly known by for over 55 years.
    <td style="text-align:center;color:#000;padding:.1em;font-size:90%;margin: 0;">Top Gear Complete Collection V3 Official Website
*As most automotive programs are British (including the earliest known example, Wheelbase), the British dialect of English is to be used in most articles, along with British-market car names (i.e. Vauxhall over Opel) unless the car in question was never sold in the UK, or an import car was used instead. An example of this is the Dodge Viper, which despite being known as a Chrysler in the UK, mostly appeared in its American form throughout TV shows.

This Wiki aimed to be a complete resource for all things televisual and written in the world of cars.

In order to classify for inclusion, the programme had to satisfy at least one of the following criteria:

 • Present some form of journalistic automotive content in a serious and factual manner
 • Feature road testing and reviews of then-new vehicles
 • Air on television or on a major streaming service
 • Have a direct lineage to the Top Gear concept created by Derek Smith (i.e. Fifth Gear, Panic Mechanics, The Grand Tour) - this automatically overruled any other rule
 • Accompany a magazine or other regular publication (i.e. Hot Version, Motorweek)

Programmes couldn't:

 • Be exclusively satirical or farcical in nature
 • Be internet-exclusive (otherwise this Wiki would've been flooded with poorly-made, mass-produced vlogs, but it doesn't matter anymore)
 • Be exclusively focused on the re-building, restoration, or modification of cars (e.g. Car SOS, Wheeler Dealers, Pimp My Ride etc.)
 • Be exclusively focused on the purchase and sale of classic cars (e.g. Chasing Classic Cars, Bangers & Cash etc.)
 • Be exclusively focused on motorsport unless the show was a child program of Top Gear or a related programme (i.e. Rally Report, Top Gear Motorsport, Grand Prix reports hosted on Wheelbase etc.)
 • Originate outside Europe, Russia, North America, Brazil, East Asia (Japan, Korea etc.) or Australia, otherwise there would've been hundreds of low-budget, likely lost automotive programs this Wiki would have to list, but again, it doesn't matter anymore.

Don't bother looking at the rules before submitting an application for an account, because account creation doesn't work. But hey, at least it exists for all to view when it was developed in 2022 and swiftly forgotten.

The GearKnob Wiki has been closed until further notice on the 29th of March 2025 due to abandonment from the original creator and lack of interest from fans to help document programmes on the Wiki.

Before you navigate the Wiki...

For the viewers out there, check out the Top Gear Complete Collection V3 website, because unlike this one, it works, looks better and will have Top Gear documented. Currently available with all of the infax (+ additions since).

For anything non-Top Gear, check out Revamped Car Shows Discord server, where you can find preservation status and active progress on preserving lost car shows (and motoring-related media, such as Police, Camera, Action! for example).

Even though this Wiki makes no purpose anymore, other than to stay as an archive of what was supposed to be done in 2022, we shouldn't forget about the Gearknob Official channel, providing very-high detailed documentaries on the world of Top Gear.
