The fifteenth series of Top Gear premiered in the United Kingdom on the 27th June, 2010, and concluded on the 1st August, 2010, after a run of 6 episodes. The series' main host was Jeremy Clarkson, and he was accompanied by Richard Hammond, James May and The Stig as co-presenters. The series was produced at Television Centre in Wood Lane, London, and aired on BBC Two in a 60-minute studio format. Series 15 attracted an average viewership rating of 6.25 million viewers per episode, with a peak of 7.48 million viewers for Episode 5, and a low of 4.58 million viewers for Episode 3.
Highlights from this series include the tongue-in-cheek retrospective of the Reliant Robin, which has become one of Top Gear's most infamous moments, a drive up an Icelandic volcano using a Toyota Hilux prepared by Arctic Trucks, A-List Hollywood actors such as Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz and Jeff Goldblum in the Kia Cee'd, and a loving tribute to Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna.
The series' viewing figures were impacted by the coinciding of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, with the final airing at the same time as the series' third episode. Outside of the programme, disagreements between Ben Collins, who had portrayed The Stig since 2003 and the show's production team came to a head, resulting in Collins quitting the show not long after his time on the F1 lap time board was beaten by Rubens Barrichello.
